Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

December 25, 2006

Merry Christmas everyone. We hope that everyone is having a wonderful day. We are doing well and wanted to thank everyone for your kind words and well wishes today. It truly mean a lot to us and has made this day easier for us.

Our agency is closed for the holiday season. However, if we do receive our Pink information, we will be notified immediately despite the shutdown. Otherwise our next update will be on Lily's birthday, January 2.

Megan has made the most beautiful video for one of my Christmas presents about Lily and our journey to bring her home. So please copy and paste this link and take a look. It is truly amazing. :)

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from our family to yours.

Love,

Chris, Megan, Lily, Willie, Gus, and Dusty

Finally......

FINALLY.......

December 19, 2006

GOOD NEWS!!!! We received an email this afternoon from our agency stating that they (FINALLY after six of the longest weeks of our lives) have our birth certificate!!!YEAH!!!!! So what does this mean...... it means that we are about 2-3 weeks from bringing our baby girl HOME FOREVER!! Our agency states that our attorney is going to try to submit us into the Embassy on Thursday 12/21 (the day Chris proposed to me 9 years ago!! :-). We say try because there is only a certain amount of cases that the embassy will except on each day. If they are not able to get in Thursday they will try again next week. We are being realistic and while hoping that we get to go the week of her birthday, due to the holidays we are more then likely going to travel between the week of the 8th to the early part week of the 15th.

When we go to pick up Lily we wanted to give her Birth Mom and her Foster Mom something. But what do you give two women that have given us so much? We thought about this for a long time. During a visit about 6 months ago to Dad Henry's house we saw that Vicky is able to make Rosary's by hand. The minute we left I said to Chris that I thought that would be the perfect gift. We waited until we were out of PGN and asked Vicky if she would make two Rosary's using Lily's birthstone. Tonight on his way home Chris picked them up. All I can say is WOW!!! It is exactly what I wanted to give these two women. From Chris, myself and Lily we wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Grandma Vicky for all of her hard work to make these perfect for us!!

We will continue to update as we hear more. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts :-)

Birth Certificate update.....

Birth Certificate update....

December 13, 2006

Dana from the POZ called Chris today and finally shed some light as to what the hold up is. She told him that 75 lawyers were caught submitting false documents to Mixco. None of which Poz is associated with (thank GOD! ). PGN got wind of this and made Mixco complete a full audit of paperwork. In the meantime no birth certificates would be issued. That explains why we were kicked out last week. Our attorney has faxed Kerry (Poz Director) a slip given to him from Mixco promising that our birth certificate will be released on Monday December 18!!We have asked that the slip be faxed to us. Now, she still won't be home for Christmas.... BUT we are on track to be in country with her on her Birthday!! We are not holding our breath for this... but the chances are looking VERY good!! Her new (and hopefully last) DVD was just mailed and we should get it by the weeks end!!

Thank you all for keeping our family in your thoughts!! We are soooooooooo ready to get off this ride and move on the Tilt-A-Wheel of parenthood!!

Hugs,
Megan and Chris

What is the most amazing to me is that Unicef doesn't want International adoptions to continue... ok... so help these children! Please go to this website and read the article.

Our intent was not to alarm anyone....

****This doens't effect Lily diectly but does show what goes on in her birth counrty.****

We need to ask a favor.....

We need to ask a favor.....

December 10, 2006

We need everyone everywhere to PLEASE cross your fingers that they are able to get Lily's Birth Certificate tomorrow. We have entered into the red zone for getting her home before Christmas. We did get a response from our agency on Friday evening and they are doing all that they can. However, they were not able to get a hold of the attorney to find out anything. So PLEASE PLEASE keep our Lily in your thoughts tomorrow and pray that the attorney is able to get it and that we can be submitted to the Embassy no later then Wednesday. We do not get our weekly update until the evening. They have promised that as soon as they hear something they will let us know. Thanks everybody!!! We will post as soon as we hear anything.

We love you all,

Chris and Megan

Hostile!!!

Hostile!!!

December 8, 2006

This is the BEST word to describe how we are feeling at this point. What we thought was going to be a great announcement has fizzled out... Chris called the agency (I don't call because I become a tad too emotional! Gotta love that Irish blood!!) and asked what was going on since we were told last Tuesday that they "should" have our new birth certificate by Friday of LAST week and we still hadn't heard anything. Dana at the agency told us that there was something missing and that the Civil Registry in Mixco was given the needed paperwork on Wednesday and now we wait again. Chris is going to call again this afternoon and find out what the new ETA is for it. It is looking more and more like Christmas in Guatemala!! So needless to say we are totally frustrated and HOSTILE!! I will write more when we hear something.. no news = no BC and another LONG weekend!

I can only imagine how the two of you must be feeling right now. Maybe Lily just wants to share Christmas "Guatemala style", with her mommy and daddy! How many people do you know that have had that experience? Where you spend the holiday doesn't really matter as long as you're all together!! I love you guys!!!!
